Here are some interesting things to know about Fairies.......

The Faerie Smile Plato said that somewhere in the universe
lies a perfect example of everything. A perfect circle, a perfect tree, a perfect seashell, I have seen the perfect smile
on the spirit of the fairy. Filled with joy and glee and as subtle as a child’s laughter.

Faeries are known to live in trees, your home (if it suits them), mushroom groups, underwater
systems and even your garden roots! Known mostly to live in "Burgh's" or underground dwellings beneath hills and mountains.
They live either solitary and reclusive lives or clan together to form a "Troop". The latter believed to be the more willing
to help and more friendlier to humans. Also too are the Faery Islands which appear and disappear usually when something is
needed from the mainlands or too, to aid sailors on their way. Some of their favorite
plants and herbs are Mistletoe, Foxglove, Jasmine, Primrose, Cowslip, Tulip, Straw, Strawberries, Dates and Poinsettias. Known also, that specific Fey are most active at specific times and at specific seasons of the
year. At these times, it is best to leave the fruits of the season or the celebration out for them, just to keep them around
but also as a precautionary act! As a rule, the more unfriendly ones are most active at the
time of the waning moon and the friendliest are more active during the Waxing Moon

The Birth of a Fairy
A million people tell as many stories about the beginnings of Fairies, and as I'm
told they are ALL true.
Fairies are as individual as the way they are each created..
Our Fairies in Nova Scotia are created in many ways .
- One such
notion is that any time any Creature wishes for a baby of their own a brilliant sparkle of colour bursts into life
and makes its way into a dark place such as a flower pod ,knot in a tree, cracks in rocks. Where it stays for a few hours (so
that the Fairy can decide its own name ) when darkness falls the Fairy is born..and then begins her journey.
- Another
is that when ever a baby breaks out in a giggle that the giggle bounces out and rolls to a safe place where it then turns
into a Fairy and flutters away.
I know only how the fairies
that I know were created and each of those is different too..I will tell you about them another time….

A fairy is a creature that appears in two kinds of folk stories-legends and fairy tales.
Legends take place in the real world, and fairy tales occur in some imaginary land. Legends are told as true stories,
while fairy tales are told as fiction. Actually, fairies appear in few fairy tales. Most stories about fairies
are really legends.
Fairies have magic powers, which perform both good and bad deeds. They can fly, change
shape and make themselves invisible to human beings. Most fairies are usually helpful, but there are several who behave
mischievously and occasionally act cruel. We must keep in mind that the fairies are governed by a code of ethics far
removed from our own.
We have no idea of the life span of a fairy. We believe they are immortal, however,
there have been sighting of fairy funerals. Throughout history, stories of the same fairy looking and acting the same
are told, we can best guess that the fairies life span is at least several hundreds of years
